Surface Preparation

Wearlon® 4545.76AG is a silicone-epoxy coating having unique release properties while adhering to a broad range of substrates including wood, concrete, fiberglass, metals, and most plastics including epoxies, polyurethanes, and alkyds.

Mixing Instructions

Before mixing, shake or stir each component until homogenous. Wearlon® 4545.76AG is a 2 component product packaged in 1 Gallon and 5 Gallon kit which contains the proper ratio of ingredients. The entire contents of each container should be mixed together.

For quantities less than the pre-packaged kit, mix as follows: To 11 parts of the A component, mix in 2 parts of the B component. Mix the A and the B until completely blended. NO INDUCTION PERIOD NECESSARY...Spray or Roll immediately.

Thinning and Clean up

In most cases it is not necessary to thin Wearlon® 4545.76AG. If you find it necessary to thin Wearlon® 4545.76AG you may add up to 5% DRINKING WATER. Clean up by using soap and water while Wearlon® 4545.76AG is in an uncured state. For best results clean all equipment as soon as the application is complete. After the material has cured you will need to use solvents to remove the Wearlon® 4545.76AG.

Application and Recoating

Wearlon® 4545.76AG cures at room temperature, for best results, and for maximum hardness, apply Wearlon® to a warm surface or post heat at least 8 hours after applying. The Wearlon® 4545.76AG coating should be applied with a roller or with conventional spray equipment as a tack coat and follow with the remainder of your total mil thickness within 20 min. Roll 1 coat, and then follow within 20 min. with the 2nd coat to achieve your total mil thickness. Wearlon® 4545.76AG repels water when cured. If you notice fish eyeing as the second coat is applied you have waited too long between coats. Recoat by wiping the coating with Acetone or sand lightly with a Scotch Bright pad, wipe off dust, then reapply Wearlon® 4545.76AG. Follow this same process whenever you need to refresh or recoat. CAUTION: Do not use harsh cleaners or aggressive solvents, (such as Acetone) when removing graffiti from the Wearlon® 4545.76AG surfaces. GRAFFITI OFF! cleaner is the preferred cleaner for removing spray paint or permanent markers. Do not allow Graffiti Off! cleaner to remain on the Wearlon surface for a prolonged period of time - always rinse off the cleaner with water after using.
