Wearlon® Super F-2M - Tough Boat Bottom Paint -
APPLICATION GUIDE AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION Surface Preparation Wearlon® Super F-2M is a silicone-epoxy coating having unique release properties while adhering to a broad range of substrates including wood, concrete, fiberglass, metals, and most plastics including epoxies, polyurethanes, and alkyds. Mixing Instructions Wearlon® Super F-2M is a 2 component product. Component A must be mixed with a high shear mixer to ensure a homogenous coating. Wearlon® Super F-2M is packaged in 1 Gallon and 5 Gallon kit which contains the proper ratio of ingredients. The entire contents of each container should be mixed together. For quantities less than the pre-packaged kit, mix as follows: To 11 parts of the A component, mix in 2 parts of the B component. Mix the A and the B until completely blended. NO INDUCTION PERIOD NECESSARY ... Spray or Roll immediately. Thinning and Clean up In most cases it is not necessary to thin Wearlon® Super F-2M. If you find it necessary to thin Wearlon® Super F-2M you may add up to 5% DRINKING WATER. Clean up by using soap and water while Wearlon® Super F-2M is in an uncured state. For best results clean all equipment as soon as the application is complete. After the material has cured, solvent is needed to clean the Wearlon® Super F-2M. Application and Recoating Spray or roll Wearlon® Super F-2M. Make sure the surface temperature is above 40°F before coating. Allow at least 12 hours of curing before putting into service. Wearlon® Super F-2M is manufactured for the maximum abrasion resistance while supplying an easy clean and slippery surface. For boat bottoms composed of metal, it is recommended to prime the metal with Wearlon® 2020.90M primer. Sanding and wet sanding followed by a light polish of Speed Coat 49 is recommended for boat bottom paint where the smoothest surface and anti-fouling properties are required.
