Wearlon® 2020.90M        - Solvent Based Epoxy Primer for Marine Applications -

APPLICATION GUIDE AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Surface Preparation

Wearlon® 2020.90M is a marine epoxy primer that has unique adhesion properties to a broad range of substrates. The adhesion properties, excellent elongation and water resistance properties make it ideal for a primer coat. Proper substrate treatment is necessary. (Steel: SSPC 10. Aluminum: SSPC 7. Fiberglass: 80 grit sand. Concrete: 28 day minimum cure and power wash using acid etch or shot blast.)

Mixing Instructions

Before mixing, shake or stir each component until homogenous. Wearlon® 2020.90M is a 2 component product packaged in 1 Gallon and 5 Gallon kits which contain the proper ratio of ingredients. The entire contents of each container should be mixed together thoroughly, and allowed to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at room temperature (70° to 80°F) before application. For quantities less than the pre-packaged kit, mix equal amounts of the A component and the B component, measured by volume.

Thinning and Clean up

In most cases it is not necessary to thin Wearlon® 2020.90M. If you find it necessary to thin Wearlon® 2020.90M you may add up to 10% acetone to the mixture. Clean up by using Acetone or M.E.K. while Wearlon® 2020.90M is in an uncured state. For best results clean all equipment as soon as the application is complete.

Application and Recoating

Wearlon® 2020.90M can be applied by brush, roller, or standard spray equipment.

For coating a thickness in excess of 5 dry mils, allow at least one hour for each subsequent coating to dry before applying each additional coat.

Storage: FLAMMABLE LIQUID. STORE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.

KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT AND OPEN FLAME. USE IN WELL VENTILATED AREA.
